Hilsa Saylab Chandpur, the price has also decreased
The supply of hilsa has increased at the large fish landing center Chandpur Big Station Fish Ghat. Two to three thousand maunds of hilsa are coming to the ghat. The price of hilsa has decreased by 150-200 taka in a week. However, the prices have not yet come down as expected compared to the demand season. And traders say, if the supply of hilsa at the ghat is like this, the price may drop a little more before the start of the river resort. Meanwhile, about 800 maunds of hilsa arrived at Barisal's port road hilsa destination yesterday. About 750 maunds of hilsa came the day before. In the wholesale market yesterday, one kg weight was sold for 1 thousand 175 taka. Which was sold in the retail market at the rate of Tk 1,250 per kg. Due to the continuous rains of the last few days, hundreds of hilsa are being caught in the sea estuary. Barisal District Fisheries Officer (Hilsa) Dr. Bimal Chandra Das said, due to the rains in the last few days, a lot of hilsa is being caught in the Sagar Mohana. However, sea hilsa is coming less. They expect more hilsa to fall into the river and sea before the 22-day ban to protect mother hilsa begins on October 7. He said that if the hilsa production increases, the price will also come under control.
On the other hand, going to Chandpur Bara Station Fish Ghat yesterday morning, it was seen that activity has returned by increasing the supply of hilsa. Where workers spent idle time even a week ago, they are now having busy time. At present, Hilsa weighing 500-700 grams is Tk 800-900, Hilsa of 800-900 grams is Tk 1000-1100 and Hilsa of 1 kg is Tk 1300-1400, Hilsa is Tk 1600-1800 of 1 kg weight. Which is 150-200 taka less than last week.
August-September is called the peak season of Hilsa. But the supply of hilsa was not according to the demand in Chandpur big station Machghat. It was priced beyond the reach of common buyers. However, at the end of the season, an average of 2-3 thousand maunds of hilsa are coming to the ghat for the last three to four days. Although most of the hilsa that came to the ghat came from Bhola, Sandwip and Hatia, the traders said. Abdul Bari Jamadar Manik, president of Chandpur Fishery Traders Association, said that the price of hilsa has decreased in the last few days due to the increase in the supply of hilsa at the ghat. I think the price is now within the reach of common buyers. However, if the supply of hilsa is the same until the beginning of the hilsa breeding season ban, the price may drop a little more.
