Three days of national mourning in Bangladesh on the death of Queen
The government has announced three days of state mourning in Bangladesh from today to September 11 due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain.
This information was revealed by the Prime Minister's Press Wing on Friday.
On the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the national flag will be kept at half-mast in all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, educational institutions and Bangladesh missions abroad for three days from Friday to September 11.
The death of the queen, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep grief and sorrow. In separate condolence messages, the President and the Prime Minister prayed for the queen's soul to rest in peace and expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
Earlier on Thursday afternoon local time, Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 at the Balmoral Palace in Scotland.
