They have become known as fishermen in the whole district beyond their own area because of their success in fish farming with few mules. Already, a new horizon of possibilities in fish farming has started in the district with their hands.

In biofloc fish farming, on the one hand, the demand of local fish is being met, on the other hand, it is possible to supply non-vegetable fish. The agricultural land is decreasing due to traditional method of digging ponds. But the biofloc method does not require any digging of ponds. It is possible to cultivate fish in this method in a small space and with little capital in the backyard.
Tushar Ahmed, a fish farmer at Bioflok, said that he got interested after watching fish farming videos on the YouTube channel. Inquiring about the biofloc method, he took training from Rajshahi. After training, about 2 years ago, he built a house with a capacity of 90,000 liters of water on the floor of his house. It costs him 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees. The money and support for this work comes from the family. After that, 25 kg fry of native horn, koi, monosex tilapia and koi fish were released there. He spends about 70 thousand rupees to buy fish fry and food. He sold fish in the local market for 2 lakh 40 thousand taka. At present, the fish hatched again in the same house.
Ripon Sarkar, a fish farmer in biofloc, said that those who cannot lease ponds can do fish farming with little capital and space with training. A biofloc house can grow the same amount of fish that can be grown in a 10 katha pond. The cost of food in house fish farming is also less. In the future, he will use advanced technology in biofloc. However, if the government arranges unsecured loans, many people will become self-sufficient by farming fish.
