In Madhupur, the mother handed over her drug addicted son to the police
A mobile court has arrested Shamim Hossain, 20, a drug addicted boy in Madhupur, Tangail. The arrested Shamim has been sentenced to 1 year imprisonment by a mobile court.
Shamim Hossain, the drug addicted son of Chaleha Begum, wife of late Azahar Ali of Tekipara village under Madhupur municipality, asks for money every day for drug use but his widowed mother beats him for not paying.
Unable to bear the torture, he lodged a complaint with the Madhupur police station on Sunday (July 12) afternoon. Following his allegations, Madhupur police arrested Shamim on Monday (July 13th) morning on the instructions of Madhupur police officer-in-charge Tariq Kamal.
Madhupur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate M. at noon. A. Karim was convicted by a mobile court under Section 42 (1) of the Narcotics Control Act 2016 and sentenced to one year imprisonment without pay and a fine of Rs 500. It is learned that he was given another 7 days imprisonment for non-payment of money.
