Bangladeshi girl Sanjida in BBC's list of 100 influential women

Mymensingh's daughter Sanjida Islam Chowya has been included in the list of top 100 most inspiring and influential women in the world created by the world's popular news media BBC. His village home in Nandale, Mymensingh. He is an honors first year student at Gurudayal Government College, Kishoreganj.

The BBC published a special report on Tuesday (December 6) about the 100 women nominated. These women have been placed in the new list in the fields of world politics, education, culture, sports, rights movement, health and science etc. Among them, the name of Sanjida Islam Choya is in the Activism and Advocacy category.

According to the BBC report, Bangladesh is one of the countries with the highest rate of child marriage in the world. Sanjida Islam Choya is trying to save girls from child marriage.

Chow was inspired by the negative impact of child marriage in a school presentation. Then he decided to work on it. When he heard about the incident of child marriage, he informed the police along with his friends, teachers and colleagues. For this, Choya has established an organization called 'Grasshopper'.

Chhoea told the media, "I think that getting married at a young age is like a life in a cage." In my neighborhood in Mymensingh, I have come to know about 40-50 cases of child marriages in a year. But now that number has come down to 2-3. In stopping child marriage, we have been able to make a significant, if not 100 percent, change in the way we have been working since the grasshopper.

For the tenth time, the BBC has published the list of 100 inspiring and influential women in the world. The BBC polled 100 pre-selected women to nominate eligible women for this year's shortlist. The list reflects the role of women speaking out against the killing of Mahsa Amini in Iran and the role of women in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
