Shifting of SSC exam center in Ghumdhum border

The Chittagong Education Board authorities have decided to close the Ghumdhum High School center in Naikshyongchari, Bandarban due to the border situation. The examination center has been shifted to Kutupalong Examination Center in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar. The number of candidates in this center is 499.




The exam will be held at Kutupalong High School in Ukhia from Saturday (September 17) instead of Ghumdhum High School Centre. Chittagong Education Board took this decision immediately on Friday (September 16) around 12:15 AM.


Naikshyongchari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Salma Ferdous confirmed the truth of the matter immediately. He said that the examination center has been changed due to fear. This decision has been taken considering the mental state of the candidate.


Bandarban District Commissioner Yasin Parvez Tirmiji confirmed the matter, said that the candidates are not affected; This decision has been taken for that.


Chittagong Education Board Chairman Prof. Mustafa Kamrul Akhtar told the media that we had prepared an alternative venue to deal with the news of unrest on the border for a few days. Some time ago the Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban said to change the center due to shelling near the Ghumdhum center on the Myanmar border. As soon as the matter was reported to the ministry, the secretary gave approval over the phone. After that I gave immediate instructions to shift Ghumdhum Center to Ukhia Cox's Bazar. Now this center exam will be held at Kutupalong High School.


He also said that the concerned district administration is working on this matter. Some vehicles will be kept by the administration at Ghoomdhum center to deliver any examinees. The administration has already taken measures for miking.


Incidentally, four shells fired by the Myanmar Army have landed at the Tumbru border of Naikshyongchari in Bandarban. A young man from the Rohingya camp on the zero line was killed. 6 people including Rohingya children were injured.


Tumbru Rohingya Camp Committee Chairman Dil Mohammad confirmed this information to the media. He said that four shells came from Myanmar around 8 pm on Friday. Of these, 3 are in Rohingya camps on the Zero Line and one is inside the borders of Bangladesh. 7 people including a Rohingya child were injured. When they were rescued and taken to a local hospital, a Rohingya youth named Mohammad Iqbal died.


Among the injured is a Bangladeshi. However, their names and identities are not yet known, said the chairman of Tumbru Rohingya Camp Committee.


Earlier in the afternoon, a Bangladeshi youth was injured in a mine explosion inside the Myanmar border at Hedmanpara on this border. The house of the injured Angyathwai Tanchangya is in Tumbru Hedmanpara of Ward No. 3 of Ghumdhum Union.
