Afridi's 'explosive' statement against PCB about Shaheen

Shaheen Shah Afridi was ruled out of cricket after injuring his knee in the first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle last July. The pacer could not participate in the Asia Cup including the Netherlands series.

He has already been kept in the World Cup squad as he has recovered from the injury. When his fans were satisfied with Shaheen's return to the national team, Shahid Afridi made an explosive claim involving the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Afridi's statement created a stir in the cricket world including Pakistan.

Former Pakistan captain claimed that PCB did nothing in the treatment of Shaheen Shah Afridi. Shaheen spent his own pocket money and went to London for treatment. He himself helped the son-in-law with money.

Shahid Afridi appeared in a program of Pakistan's Sama TV on Thursday and spoke about Shahin's injury recovery and joining the World Cup team.

He expressed his anger on the PCB. He said, Shaheen went to England with his own money. Stayed in England at own expense. I arranged for a doctor from here. But he went there and contacted the doctor himself. The PCB did nothing for his treatment.

Afridi said that Pakistan's international tour director Zakir Khan was the only one who sought out Shaheen.

The former all-rounder said, "From contacting the doctor to the hotel room and food in London, including the cost of the doctor's prescription, Shaheen did everything from his own pocket. No one from PCB contacted. As far as I know, only Zakir Khan spoke to Shaheen once or twice. But that's up to the word.

Meanwhile, in spite of Afridi's demands, PCB said that Shaheen Shah's personal expenses for medical expenses in London will be paid to him.
