Initiative to catch counterfeit money at the cattle market

  The central bank has directed the banks to provide services to prevent counterfeit notes at the sacrificial

animal market.  As per the instructions, banks will display videos and set up identification booths to create awareness about counterfeit notes.



  Bangladesh Bank has also decided which bank will be in charge of which market of North and South City Corporation of Dhaka.  The responsibility of the banks outside Dhaka will be determined by the concerned branch of Bangladesh Bank.



  Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the banks have been instructed to abide by the hygienic guidelines and to provide uninterrupted note verification services till the night before Eid at the approved cattle markets of the North and South City Corporations of the capital.



  Outside Dhaka, where Bangladesh Bank does not have branches, Sonali Bank will distribute the responsibilities of various banks.
